“I cannot say enough good things about Ashley Farrell Design. My husband and I live in a tiny house with a big backyard. The drought and the desire to do more living outdoors inspired us to overhaul our lawn-dominated backyard. I reached out to a local landscape designer who I saw featured in Sunset Magazine. She wouldn’t talk to me for less than $50k. We learned about Ashley through a mutual friend. She was so accessible, hands-on and fair in her pricing. I provide a basic snapshot of the plants I liked – and she went to work.

My best advice in working with Ashley is just trust in her vision. No computer design program can adequately convey her landscape plan. She (literally) digs in and lets the topography of the space guide her. She’s there every day of the process, getting dirty with a big smile on her face – and her team is competent and considerate. Ashley is passionate about nature and the local ecosystem and incorporates those elements into design (we are now obsessed with our monarchs and milkweed). We are so thrilled with the final product that we rarely want to go indoors. Our sloped lawn has been replaced with a diversity of “al fresco rooms” – fire pit, reflection space, stone steps and terraces, orchard – and beautiful plants and trees that surprise us throughout the year with flowers and fruits.

More than a year later Ashley continues to check in on our yard and offer advice – and we consider her a friend. She’s gone as far as pulling off the side of the road to pull neglected weeds from our front yard (she noticed while driving by) from our front yards. She’s THAT invested in her work.

“I highly recommend the services of Ashley Farrell Design for many reasons. The entire staff was a pure pleasure to work with every day and they exceeded my expectations on every level. I received a complete design and estimate of the job description to be completed at my home and was pleasantly surprised that the work was not only finished on time, but within the estimated budget I was given without any hidden costs or unexpected fees. Miss Farrell listened to what I wanted, made some great suggestions, came up with a plan, and coordinated the entire job. She even found me a tile contactor to work on my front porch when I couldn’t find someone myself.
When the they showed up to begin the yard clean up they offered to also take any other items I needed to dispose of to the local refuse and recycling companies for me as well.
The quality of the work and products used were both excellent.
At the end of every work day, the workers left everything tidy and always made sure the gates were securely closed so that my Labrador, Lola was safely inside.

“Ashley Farrell was chosen for our landscape project out of a group of five landscapers that we interviewed. She was the most engaged in our project and her pricing was the fairest out of all of them. Her experience was also a very high factor in our consideration of landscapers. We knew going into this major project that it would be a long term job. We had an acre that had to be made beautiful. First, we had to have everything torn out. Then the hard scape had to done, all new patios, new driveway, retaining walls, remodeled pool etc. Ashley worked as our co-ordinator on everything for us and kept us all sane. Ashley was also the only landscaper that we interviewed that was also hands on. She was there everyday and worked as much or more, with her fabulous crew.
Phase two is probably going to start in late winter when she transforms our lower lot into a beautiful 20’ X 20’ fruit and vegetable garden.
